Tactical Emergency Casualty Care
TECC for professionals and the prepared citizen
Service Description
The TECC course will focus on five primary concerns: controlling massive hemorrhaging using commercial and improvised tourniquets, securing an airway using devices and maneuvers, improving respiration, addressing shock, and hypothermia. Medications, management of stumps and fractures, and wound dressing will also be incorporated. MORARI MORTEM uses a scenario-based approach to medical training because it is rare to find yourself in a hostile scenario and need only one skill to get yourself out. So, when possible, we combine live fire with our medical lanes in order to merge multiple skills in a chronological sequence. Our courses that include live-fire will require: + Rifle with sling and/or pistol with holster + At least 3 magazines per weapon + Chest rig, battle belt, or equivalent duty gear + Enough mag pouches to hold the required number of mags + A first-aid kit mounted to the chest rig or battle belt that contains: - Combat Gauze (or equivalent) - 4 or 6 inch Ace Wrap - Chest seal (optional) - NCD (optional) + NAR CAT tourniquet* (Gen 7), SAM XT tourniquet (metal windlass), or SOF Tourniquet (Gen 5) + Weather appropriate clothing + Watch- either analog or digital watches are fine. Smart watches are not preferred. + Lunch for both days + Paper and pen/pencil for note taking *The CAT is an excellent choice and is the most affordable. Note: The first aid kit is for real world injuries. Your medical equipment will NOT be used during training events. All training aids for the medical skills will be provided.
