Tactical Emergency Casualty Care

This TECC course will focus on five primary concerns: controlling massive hemorrhaging using commercial and improvised tourniquets, securing an airway using devices and maneuvers, improving respiration, addressing shock, and hypothermia. Medication, initial management of amputations, fractures, wound dressing, and casualty evacuation will also be incorporated.

MORARI MORTEM uses a scenario-based approach to medical training because it is rare to find yourself in a hostile scenario and only need one skill to get yourself out. So, when possible, we combine live fire with our medical lanes in order to merge multiple skills in a chronological sequence. We use the most up to date information in our curriculum to ensure our students get the most out of the training. Additionally, we also use either a porcine or caprine carcass for added realism. About half of our class is in a classroom environment and the rest will be outdoors on a firing range (when possible).

FAQs:

Do I need prior medical/firearms experience? Do I need to bring my own firearm?

No prior medical certification is required. Bringing your own firearm is NOT required to attend the live-fire course. Firearms handling experience is helpful but not mandatory. Our instructors provide thorough safety and skills instruction for all experience levels.

Is ammunition or medical gear provided?

Basic medical training materials are provided. Students may bring their own firearms and ammunition (where applicable) or use provided equipment for a small fee if desired.

How intense/physical will this class be?

It is entirely up to each student. We can accommodate a wide variety of abilities.

Is there an age minimum?

This course is open to participants aged 16 and above. A parent or guardian of the minor(s) must be an active student and must sign written permission on the first day of class.
